Laura lives and works in London making films and visual arts since 2009. Her work has been exhibited in Museums and cultural spaces. In 2006 and 2007 she was awarded a grant from BNP Paribas in recognition to her career as an artist and she has also been sponsored by: La Colección Jumex, Big Sky Grant and UNAM among others. Her documentary HERMANOS won the audience award at SAFF 2018 and was acquired by Amazon Prime Video. Her Documentary NON WESTERN premiered at Vision du Réel 2020 and was selected for ‘Best of Fests’ at IDFA. MEXICAN DREAM, Laura's latest film won the José María prize at IMPULSO Morelia, was part of WIPLATAM San Sebastian and premiered at HOT DOCS 2024.
