When I relocated to London in 2009, I discovered my passion for filmmaking, which has since become my primary creative outlet. Through filmmaking, I've found a medium to delve into my lifelong fascination with human behaviour and forge connections with worlds and people I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise.
My primary focus has been working with non-actors, as I'm keen on exploring the intricacies of human behaviour and understanding the motivations behind our choices. Each film I undertake is a journey of discovery, enabling me to challenge my own preconceptions and form connections that not only enrich my own experience but also resonate with others.
While much of my work falls under the documentary genre, I regard all my films simply as 'films’. Whether documentary or fiction, I believe both avenues offer opportunities to uncover truths—it's a matter of the creative direction taken.
In my latest project, MEXICAN DREAM, I collaborated closely with the participants, resulting in a deeply rewarding experience. Working together on the same boat was empowering. I followed the observational documentary method for two years, and afterwards, I shared my discoveries with the participants, who contributed significantly to the filmmaking process, enriching it immensely.
